In memory of our friend,
Marshall Monty Dues - K5MMD (ex-WB5MYO)
February 28, 1943 - June 25, 2015
Marshall Dues was invited to join TDXS in 1975 as member number 28. He was a soft spoken man with a friendly smile and ready hand shake. He could talk for hours about his love of vintage "boat anchor" radios, motorcycles, and airplanes. He was a regular at all the local hamfests where he scouted for more "boat anchors" to take home. You could often find him at the Belton hamfest taking pictures of vintage rigs and posting them to various internet forums. While in Saudi Arabia, he once found a Honda Goldwing motorcycle that he wanted, and shipped it home piece by piece. His latest fancy was a BMW motorcycle that he rode frequently. His love for flying led him to build a kit airplane and fly it himself all around the Houston area. It is only fitting that many of his aviation friends in the Lone Star Flight Club and members of the Katy Amateur Radio Society sponsored a fly-in memorial service at the Houston Executive Airport on August 1, 2015.
